The Canadian Institute of Plumbing and Heating PEI Conference
Innovative HealthwoRx welcomes CIPH delegates and companions! June 18th Shauna Oakie R.N. and Trudy MacNeil R.D. present an early morning education session to the companions of the CIPH Conference. The topics: Health and Wellness in the Workplace-How to Improve Your Health and Wellness At Work and At Home, and Nutrition, Healthy Eating on the Go. The session kicked off with a rousing exercise of ROCK, PAPER, SCISSORS!! The object of this game, to pay the winner a compliment! Too often we go through our day to day routine without saying something nice to our fellow man/woman. What a great fun way to start the day! Now with everyone laughing and awake, Trudy delivers a great sesson on the importance of eating a healthy and nutritious diet, especially when on the run. Tips on how to incorporate healthy snacks when traveling and on the go were very helpful. The best thing, the SNACK PACK! What to pack and keep with you when on the go. The Healthy Eating Alliance Fat and Sugar display, was also very interesting and informative. Thank you Healthy Eating Alliance! The next day, June 19th was a very energetic session presented by Shauna Oakie R.N. and Gordon McNeilly. The topics, Workplace Wellness and How It Impacts Business and Physical Activity-Finding The Time and Energy-Power to Believe! What a great way to start the morning! Gordon had everyone up and groovin' to the music, pumping everyone up for their day! This presentation focused on the power that each of us has to create change and committ to a healthier lifestyle through proper nutrition and physical activity. Shauna's message, "Internal wellness programs are proven to reduce sick time, increase productivity and improve employee moral and team work". Let's invest in our most important assett....our people! The session finished off with doorprizes! Now that was fun! Special thanks to Kathy Hambly of the Charlottetown Chamber of Commerce for a wonderful reference! Thanks to Stephen Apps and his associates of CIPH for all the hard work coordinating the event! We look forward to your next visit to Prince Edward Island.
