HEARING LOSS CAN HAPPEN BEFORE YOU KNOW IT, SO... 

Innovative HealthwoRx and Music PEI team up to offer PEI's first Hearing Protection Clinic for all musicians and music lovers alike!  This clinic will offer a hearing test prior to the custom fitting of Sweet Tones earplugs, produced by Custom Protect Ear, the smartest hearing protection.  (Custom Protect Ear is a hearing protection manufacturer that has earned IS09002 Registration.)   

Musicians practice and perform in a variety of different settings and they are exposed to high levels of sound, sometimes for long periods.  They require different amounts of protection depending on the sound levels they encounter during rehearsals and performances, therefore musician plugs are available in different levels of sound reduction.

The problems with conventional earplugs is that most earplugs attenuate more than necessary when fitted properly, too much attentuation in the high frequencies makes speech and music sound muffled and unclear, users don't always wear them deeply enough in their ears because they want to hear speech, a specific instrument or machinery.  Sweet Tones earplugs are made for musicians!  They replicate the natural response of the ear canal so the sound heard with these earplugs has the same quality as the original, just quieter. 

Who should attend?  All musicians and concert goers of any age.  Remember the audience should be concerned about their hearing as well.

When is the clinic?  September 6th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m and again from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.  Each participant will need approximately 10 minutes for the appointment.

Where is the clinic?  The clinic will be at the Confederation Center of the Arts at the ECMA/Music PEI office on the Main Floor.

Why should you attend?  Your hearing should last a lifetime!  Unfortunately noice induced hearing loss can not be cured but further damage is preventable.  Custom Protect Ear has designed filtered earplugs for musicians.  The result is that music and speech can still be heard clearly, but will not be as loud.
